Visiting Luxor – Day 2 continued
Barbara and I had been to the Sonesta St. George Hotel in Luxor on two previous occasions but when we were invited by their sales manager to dine once again at the hotel we were delighted.
The last time we were at the Sonesta they were in the midst of upgrading their upper floor rooms at the start of a major renovation program.
When we arrived at the stunning reception area this time we were greeted by some of their sales team members who were keen to show us what had been achieved.
The Sonesta is definitely one of our favourite hotels in Luxor. It’s located almost next to the Steigenberger Nile Palace and it’s beautiful grounds lead down to the banks of the Nile. It has a lovely swimming pool and sunbathing area and you can take breakfast and dinner in the open-air, again looking down to the Nile.
The evening we were there there was a major event taking place and the hundreds of diners who were attending were being served dinner in the open-air in a special area that was right on the banks of the Nile. With the lights of the opposite banks twinkling on one side and the beautifully lit appearance of the Sonesta on the other the guests were in an idyllic spot.
