I thought I’d add a short post to emphasise the fact that “you will not see the Pyramids or the Sphinx whilst on a Nile cruise“.
A small number of people think that if they take a Nile cruise they will be able to visit those two great wonders of the world without realising that a Nile cruise takes place about 400 miles away from Cairo where the Sphinx and the Pyramids are located. Unfortunately that’s a long way away and although you will have a wonderful time cruising the Nile you will need to look at some of our other tours if you would like to add Cairo to your trip.
If you access our FREE Nile Cruise Guide you will read about our own trip where we took a 4 night Nile cruise and then flew up to Cairo and spent three nights which allowed us to visit the Pyramids and explore Cairo all within the space of a week.
We can also arrange a one week Nile cruise with three further days in Cairo which is a great trip that really allows you to experience Egypt and to really find out more about  Ancient Egypt with visits to the Sphinx, the Pyramids and the Egyptian Museum in Cairo.
Or, if you can only take a one week cruise you can take a one day excursion up to Cairo if you sail on either the MS Da Vinci or the MS Fleurette. This one day optional excursion is only offered on these two ships (subject to availability of internal flights bewteen Luxor and Cairo). It’s a great one day excursion that leaves early in the morning. It includes visits to the Sphinx and the Pyramids, lunch and then a visit to the Egyptian Museum and Cairo in the afternoon.
If you would like to look at the other options to combine a Nile cruise with a visit to Cairo please visit our Nile Cruise and Cairo page on the main Nile Cruises 4U website or call either myself or Barbara on our Freephone number 0808 1089 100 and we’ll be pleased to explain the options that are available to you.
