Nile Cruise Packages
There is a large selection of “Nile Cruise Packages” available for anyone thinking of combining a Nile Cruise with an extra week somewhere else in Egypt or even just a few days at the beginning or the end of their Nile cruise.
For instance if you are thinking of having an extra week at the end of your Nile cruise you could look at any of the following:
Nile Cruise and Red Sea:
This could consist of a Nile Cruise followed by an extra week in Red Sea resorts such as El Gouna, Hurghada, Marsa Alam, Makadi Bay and even Sharm El Sheikh, although Sharm is a flight away from Luxor whereas the other Red Sea resorts are much nearer and are reached by road. Marsa Alam is particularly good for diving and snorkelling but the other Red Sea resorts all offer diving and snorkelling facilities. You can read more about the various options by visiting our Nile Cruise and Red Sea page.
Nile Cruise, Cairo and Red Sea:
How about a 7 night Nile Cruise followed by 3 nights in Cairo where you can visit The Sphinx and The Pyramids followed by a day exploring Cairo including the Egyptian Museum and the Khan el Khalil Bazaar? Then you can fly down to the Red Sea and stay in any of the Red Sea resorts mentioned above. That gives you a total Egyptian experience over a 2 week period. You can read more about these arrangements on our Nile Cruise, Cairo and Red Sea page. You can also read more about the various excursions you can enjoy in Cairo by going to our Cairo Excursions page.
Nile Cruise and Lake Nasser:
You could take a 7 night Nile Cruise and then follow it with a 3 or 4 night Lake Nasser cruise which would allow you to sail on the spectacular Lake Nasser, one of the world’s largest man-made lakes. It will also give you the opportunity to experience the captivating beauty of Abu Simbel. Hewn into a rocky cliff side, the 3,200-year-old complex is a fantastically preserved UNESCO World Heritage site comprising the grandiose Great Temple, fronted by four mighty, seated colossi of Ramses II, and the breathtaking smaller Temple of Hathor. At the end of your cruise we can arrange for you to spend the remaining portion of your holiday with several days staying in either Aswan, Luxor or Cairo. You can read more on our Nile Cruise and Lake Nasser page.
If you dont’ want to spend 2 weeks in Egypt or you simply wish to visit Cairo to see The Sphinx and The Pyramids at the end of your Nile Cruise you could take a Nile Cruise and Cairo trip which would last 10 nights in total. For this arrangement you would fly out of Heathrow Airport using scheduled flights.
Nile Cruise and Cairo:
This arrangement is our second most popular trip. We would arrange a 3 night stay in Cairo at the end, (or the beginning) of your 7 night Nile cruise. You simply fly up to Cairo from Luxor and stay for 3 nights which gives you 2 full days in Cairo to explore The Sphinx and The Pyramids, the Egyptian Museum and the Khan el Khalil Bazaar amongst many other highlights. We normally recommend that you stay at one of the excellent hotels in Giza, just outside of Cairo and right next to The Pyramids and The Sphinx. You can also enjoy the spectacular Sound and Light Show at The Pyramids as well as exploring Memphis and Saqqara, the home of the first Step Pyramid. You can read more about this arrangement on our Nile Cruise and Cairo page and more about the selection of various Cairo options on our Cairo Excursions page.
We love to talk about our own experiences of travelling in Egypt and would be pleased to talk to you about any of the above without any obligation whatsoever. Please feel free to call either Barbara or myself, Colin, on our Freephone number 0808 1089 100.
