Nile cruise with a Free second week?
You may have seen the previous post about the great offer for a Nile Cruise and a FREE second week that I posted over the weekend.
I just wanted to recommend that if you are thinking of taking advantage of this great offer that you might thing about the hotels that are on offer at a small supplement in Luxor as part of this great deal.
The hotel that is totally free is the “El Luxor” which is right on the front facing the Nile and the Nile Cruise ships. However I personally would pay just a little more (£29 or £49) and upgrade to one of the four alternatives. Barbara and I were in Luxor at the end of March and we visited these hotels.Â
Those were the “Sofitel Karnak“, the “Maritim JolieVille“, the “Pavillion at the Old Winter Palace” and the excellent “Sonesta St. George“. All four of them are hotels that I would love to spend a leisurely week in and each of them can be booked for an extra week for a very small supplement.
The “Sofitel Karnak” and the “Winter Palace Pavillion” can be booked for an extra week for just £29.Â
£29 for a week’s accommodation!! An absolute bargain.
The excellent “Sonesta St. George” and the “Maritim JolieVille” can be booked for an extra week for just £49. Again an absolute bargain.
Over the next few days I will be uploading a series of photos that I took at the four hotels when we visited them and you will be able to see the quality of the hotels and read about the excellent facilities available.
Obviously because we are still recovering from the “Egyptian Revolution” of February sales are slower than normal to Egypt. Normally at this time of the year all of the Nile cruise ships and the hotels in Luxor and in El Gouna on the Red Sea would be working at full capacity. At the moment that is not the case so to encourage travellers there are some great bargains to be had and this combination of a Nile Cruise (on the excellent Viking Princess and Royal Viking) with an extra week at unbelievable rates is the best I can remember.
If, like me, you tend to be more of a “pool” than “beach” sort then a hotel in Luxor on the banks of the Nile is a great choice.
I personally love the “Sonesta St. George” with its great pool area and gardens that reach down to the edge of the Nile. It has a choice of restaurants including a unique Japanese restaurant and the choice of rooms that you can upgrade to (if you want to) cant’ be surpassed. They have some of the most luxurious suites that I have ever seen. The staff are welcoming, professional and attentive and a week at the Sonesta would leave you relaxed and ready to face the world again. A great hotel to stay at.
The “Maritim JolieVille” is uniquely situated on an island in the Nile and like the Sonesta  its’ swimming pool area is wonderful. Add to that a superb new Spa and Gym centre and you have a great place to stay. The hotel is famous for its’ daily ritual of watching the sun go down over the Nile whilst they play classical music. A tradition that they are very well known for.
The “Sofitel Karnak” is situated near Karnak Temple and again the hotel has beautiful grounds and facilities and is perfectly situated on the banks of the Nile. Barbara and I both said we would love to take the family for a week’s stay at this excellent hotel.
Finally there is the Pavillion at the Old Winter Palace which is situated within the superb gardens of this world-famous hotel, known to kings, queens, politicians and film-stars. The Pavillion is in a great position and very near the Old Winter Palace’s swimming pool and outdoor restaurant area and in the evening you can choose to eat at either of the two poolside restaurants that each offer different cuisines. The hotel is right on the front and would be a lovely place to spend a week at.
This great offer is available from June 1st right through to the 29th of August and if you can take a 2 week break I would really recommend that you book as soon as possible while the availability is still there.
If you would like to talk to either Barbara or myself about any of these four excellent hotels please feel free to call us on our FREEPHONE number 0808 1089 100 up until 10pm in the evening weekdays and up to 6.00pm on the weekend.
