On arrival we then had to drive our youngest daughter back to university before we finally arrived home at around 9.30pm only to find that our heating had decided to give up the ghost!
I spent about an hour trying to sort things out myself as it was too late to call anybody out but in the end we decided that as the house was freezing and we had no hot water we would check in to the nearby Ramada Inn where at least we’d be warm and would have access to hot water.
As I lay in bed in our toasty room at the Ramada I took a look on my iPhone at the temperatures in Luxor that day and saw that it had been 82 degrees farenheit!! A bit warmer than platform 14 at Piccadilly Station.
Next morning we popped into Curry’s and bought 5 fan heaters to try and warm up the house a little but then I managed to sort things out and eventually we got the heating system back to normal.  (After spending £50 on the hotel room and £120 on the heaters!).
Last November at exactly the same time we spent a week cruising the Nile and temperatures were exactly the same…80+ degrees.
So we’ve decided that next November, all things being well, we’re going to spend a week or two in Egypt just in case this all happens again.
If you are sitting looking at the snow outside or have spent hours sitting in the car queuing to get to work and you suddenly decide…”that’s it! I’m off”…then we’ve got some great Nile Cruises for December and early January that we can offer you.

Cabins are limited but if your thinking of getting “away from all this” then why not call us and see what we can do for you on this exellent Nile Cruise ship?
