Last night (10 September) I watched a wonderful BBC programme called The Frankincense Trail featuring the lovely Kate Humble. Last nights episode was set in Egypt as Kate sailed the Nile from Aswan and visited so many of the places you would see on a Nile Cruise.

Villa Belle Epoque, Cairo’s boutique hotel, the restored 1920’s building is a great alternative to Cairo’s many traditional hotels and was featured in the Guardian’s travel section last weekend.
The hotel, which is situated in a tree-lined neighbourhood of Cairo and offers travellers a real escape from the hustle and bustel of many of Cairo’s streets and thoroughfares.
It features 13 rooms all embellished with handpicked antiques with shutters, cornices and Arabic motifs.

The 5 star Viking Premiere has just undergone a complete refurbishment. It is due in service again any time now and promises to be an excellent choice to cruise the Nile upon.
The Viking Premiere is part of the same fleet as the excellent Royal Viking and we are told that the refurbishment is along the lines of the style of the Royal Viking.
We only have pictures of the newly styled cabins at the moment but as soon as we have the photographs of the rest of the ship we’ll post them here and on our Nile Cruise Ships page on the main Nile Cruises 4u website.
