Egypt trip is a once-in-lifetime adventure

nilefestival I spotted this great article in the online version of the Louisiana newspaper the New Star.

It’s an article by a local travel agent, Dianne Newcomer, reporting on one of her clients report about the Egypt trip. As she says in the opening paragraph, we as travel agents usually only hear from a client when something has gone wrong. However, I must say with Egypt and Nile Cruises we do get a lot of positive feedback.

Anyway here’s the article, (with credit to The New Star and author Dianne Newcomer).

“Big, gigantic … no, I’d probably say huge-normous — and old — very, very old.”

The Oberoi Zahra Nile Cruise

Read this article yesterday, in the Daily Telegraph, that was reporting on the Spa facilities on the Oberoi Zahra that I thought you might be interested in.

We’ve posted about the Oberoi Zahra a number of times here on the blog.  It’s probably the most exclusive and luxurious ship cruising the Nile and definitely the most expensive at around £2500 upwards per person per week.  But it’s still a great ship and worth considering if the budget stretches that far.  Especially for a special occasion.

From Luxor to Liverpool!!

I mentioned the other day the Ancient Egypt Exhibition at Liverpool’s World Museum. Well, last night on our local tv news program there was an excellent report from the exhibition that was announced as “from Luxor to Liverpool” which I thought was a great title and one that I’ve used for this post.

The exhibition does look great and they showed a whole section of it in the report. If your close enough to get to Liverpool I would recommend you visit the exhibition as it will give you a real taste of Ancient Egypt and what you’ll be seeing on your Nile Cruise.

Nile Cruise at Christmas

Believe it or not there still appears to be a small amount of availability for the Domina Prestige Nile Cruise ship for the 22nd of December.

Prices are around the 700+ pounds mark, which is great for Christmas to be honest. Not sure seats will be there much longer but as of two minutes ago I was finding seats.

Online Ancient Egypt

image Following on to my reference about the Egyptian Exhibition at Liverpool’s Museum Of The World I came across this really unique “online” interactive “Life In Ancient Egypt” adventure.

Although it’s probably aimed predominantly at children it gives you a great feeling for how life was for ordinary Egyptians.  Great fun and a wonderful resource and a little taster of some of what you’ll see when your cruising the Nile.

Thanks to Liverpool Museums for the link.
