Nile Cruise BargainsWe have just added a new testimonial for the MS Fleurette from Sue and Valerie who have just returned from what they described as “was one of the most Fantastic holidays I have ever experienced”.

Years ago…

Petticoat and VineThis is nothing to do with Nile Cruises but a friend of mine sent me a nice surprise this morning and I’ve added it to the site because its’ a bit of fun and a change from writing about travel.

Over 100 years ago… (well far too many to contemplate anyway)…I was in a band in Liverpool called Petticoat and Vine.  (I’m the mean and moody one on the right).  I was 17 when I joined and we were very much like a “scouse Mamas and Papas“.  We were very lucky and managed to get a recording deal and we did a bunch of television and radio appearances over a two or three year period.  Unfortunately we didn’t’ manage to become superstars but we had a great time and are still friends after all these years.  Which in the music business must be a record in itself! Cairo Excursions – Pre-Book or Book On The Day?

Cairo ExcursionsBarbara and I spent a wonderful three days in Cairo last November and enjoyed a full day Memphis, Saqarra and The Great Pyramids excursion as well as a evening at the “Sound and Light” show at the Pyramids.  Both great experiences.

People often ask us if they should pre-book these excursions or leave them until they reach Cairo and I’d like to suggest that it really doesnt’ matter that much.

When we were planning our trip we were initially going to book another excursion for the second day we were there.  We were going to book a half-day trip to see the Egyptian Museum.  However we only pre-booked the full day excursion and decided to choose what else we did when we reached Cairo.
