Wildlife Holidays in Egypt
As well as arranging Nile Cruises and Nile Cruise and Stay holidays, (Nile cruise and a further stay in Cairo, Luxor or the Red Sea) we can also arrange some wonderful Wildlife Holidays to Egypt.
Having cruised the Nile I can vouch for the wonderful array of bird life and wildlife that you will see. If you would like to enjoy a dedicated wildlife holiday in Egypt then here is an example of what we can arrange for you…
This 11 day wildlife tour to Egypt combines the major sites of both archaeological and ornithological interest. Visiting the Sinia Desert, the River Nile, Luxor, the Pyramids and Sphinx we search for a combination of special Western Palearctic and African birds.
A phenomenal six thousand years of recorded history, and a prime position on the avian migration route between Africa and Europe, combine to make Egypt one of the most exciting destinations for birdwatchers with an appreciation of the past. Nurtured by the life-giving waters of the river, one of the greatest civilisations ever to inhabit the earth developed along the Nile Valley leaving, as monuments to their existence, countless temples, pyramids and artefacts which today are numbered among the greatest historical sites in the world. Three continents exert their respective influences on a remarkably diverse avifauna, which is enriched and enhanced by the seasonal movements of migrants using the country as a staging post for longer journeys. By late October, newly arrived winter visitors may be observed alongside the resident ‘specialities’ and with cooler weather conditions, this is an excellent time for birdwatching. As you travel in the Sinai Desert and along the River Nile you will be visiting many of the best birding localities in Egypt but this is a tour which also pays homage to world famous antiquities including the Pyramids, Abu Simbel, Aswan and Luxor.
Cheap Nile Cruises
Sorry for not posting since late December but Barbara and I took a week away skiing with our family in Alpe D’Huez in France. It was our first time away at Christmas time and we had a wonderful time. We saw more of our kids than we would ever of had if had stayed at home. We stayed in a catered chalet and the other people staying there were great so I would heartily recommend trying it if you’ve ever wondered what Christmas away is like.
Anyhow…back to Nile Cruises. I’ve just posted the latest Nile Cruise offers we’ve just received in for the Da Vinci. The cheapest Nile Cruise showing is for the 21st of January at just £479, which is tremendous value when you consider that there are NO ADD-ONS to that price (unless you want a single cabin) and the price INCLUDES 10 excursions.
Please call us on Freephone 0808 1089 100 for more details. But hurry as they wont’ be there for long.
Down The Nile; Alone in a Fisherman’s Skiff
I’ve mentioned this great book by Rosemary Mahoney before but I thought I’d bring it to your attention once more as I have just read a great article by Rosemary in the travel section of last weekend’s Observer.
In the article she describes the excitement, wonder and fear of actually travelling as she did down the Nile.
If your looking for a good book to read either before your Nile cruise or during it I can heartily recommend Rosemary’s book.
Kenya Holidays Podcast
We’ve just launched the Kenya Holidays Podcast on our sister site, www.KenyaHolidays4u.co.uk. The new series of Podcasts will start just after Christmas and, just like our Nile Cruise Podcast will be aimed at giving potential Kenya Holidays and Safari travellers a taste of what they can expect.
