Yesterday I wrote about fabulous trip that included a stay in Cairo visiting the Pyramids, The Sphinx and the Egyptian Museum, a visit to Abu Simbel followed by a wonderful cruise on Lake Nasser.
I really think you would be hard pressed to find an 8 day itinerary that would allow you to see so much of Ancient Egypt.

Itinerary:
DAY 1. SATURDAY or THURSDAY
On arrival at Cairo Airport, you will be met by our representative and transferred to your hotel in Cairo for overnight. BB.
DAY 2. SUNDAY or FRIDAY
Following breakfast, enjoy a full day of sightseeing which will take you to visit the Great Pyramids at Giza, the Sphinx and the incredible Egyptian Museum. Lunch will be served in a local restaurant. Overnight in Cairo. BB + L.
DAY 3. MONDAY or SATURDAY (Lake Nasser Cruise starts)
After breakfast, you will fly to Abu Simbel to join your cruise steamer along Lake Nasser and through Lower Nubia. Following the building of the Aswan High Dam in the 1960’s, it is now possible to view sights not previously accessible to tourists. You will have lunch on board and will visit the Abu Simbel temples, symbol of the international campaign for the salvage of the Nubian monuments, the temple of Ramses II and his beloved wife Nefertiri. A welcome cocktail will be served in front of the two temples, followed by candlelight dinner on board, overlooking the temples, weather permitting. BB + L + D.
DAY 4. TUESDAY or SUNDAY
If you are an early riser, here is a wonderful opportunity to watch the spectacular sunrise at Abu Simbel with an early morning visit to Temples. Morning at leisure with lunch served while sailing to the dramatic ruins of Kasr Ibrim. Arrive at Kasr Ibrim, sole vestige of the distant past of Nubia found in its original location. During the Pharaonic period, this hill was dominated by a castle with its mountain-top location. Throughout the Medieval era, the summit of the hill was dominated by a cathedral of which one can still admire the remains of the Roman arches. Entrance to the actual site of Kasr Ibrim is not permitted. Continue sailing to Amada with a cocktail served on the upper deck overlooking Amada’s Temples. BB + L + D.
DAY 5. WEDNESDAY or MONDAY
Today you will visit the temple of Amada of the 18th Century dynasty, built during the reign of Thotmosis III, Amenophis III and Thotmosis IV. The hemi-speos of Deorr dedicated by Ramses II to the rising sun and the tomb of Penout, viceroy of Nubia. This afternoon, you have a relaxing sail to Wadi El Seboua. Cocktail and overnight on board. BB + L + D.
DAY 6. THURSDAY or TUESDAY
Morning visit to visit the temple of Wadi El Saboua dedicated by Ramses II to the two gods Amon Ra and Ra Harmakis. Next, you will see the temple of Dakka, dedicated to the God Thot of divine wisdom, lord of time and science, master of literature. Visit the Greco-Roman temple of Meharakka dedicated to Serapis.
Sail to Aswan and crossing of the Tropic of Cancer. Overnight on board in Aswan. BB + L + D.
DAY 7. FRIDAY or WEDNESDAY
After breakfast, you will disembark the boat. Visit the Kalabsha Temple with its Pharaonic aspect, remodelled into the Greco-Roman style and dedicated to the God Mandoulis. You will also see the Beit El Wali temple, built by Ramses II at the beginning of his reign and the Kiosk of Kertassi, built to honour the Goddess Isis.
At the end of your tour, fly back to Cairo for your last night in magical Egypt. BB
DAY 8. SATURDAY or THURSDAY
Transfer from your hotel to Cairo Airport for your return flight to London.
