Sorry, I know this is the Nile Cruise Blog but I couldnt’ resist adding this video which we posted onto our Kenya Holidays blog this morning.

Some of you may know that our other website is our Kenya Holidays website and this video, which I found on Google was made by Harvey Croze as he flew over Amboseli National Park in Kenya. Its’ so atmospheric when you listen to the music too. By the way the music is the “Out Of Africa” theme tune.

Hope you enjoy the flight!

The reason I’m mentioning our Goa Holidays eMail Alerts is because I’m thinking of trying to add the same technology to our main Nile Cruises 4u website.

The way that the Email Alerts work is if you are looking for a Goa Holiday and visit our website, www.GoaHolidays4u.co.uk you may or may not see a holiday that fits your requirements exactly. If you do then of course you would phone our Goa Holidays reservations number and check out the availability and hopefully book.

However, if you dont’ see exactly what your looking for you can sign up for our Email Alerts. That way you will enter your requirements, date, destination and departure airport and then request that we send you daily, twice weekly or weekly alerts notifying you of the best 10, 20 or 30 offers we have that nearest match what your looking for. It means that you dont’ have to keep returning to the site to see if we now have what your looking for. And you dont’ miss out on what could have been the ideal deal for you.

So I’m now working on trying to add the same facility to the Nile Cruise website to enable visitors to receive the same type of Email Alerts for their Nile Cruise holiday. If I’m successful I’ll announce it in the next few weeks.

What does that heading mean? Well essentially that was what most of our enquiries were for yesterday.

I think a lot of people really fancy the idea of cruising the Nile in the lap of luxury. That’s not to say the other Nile cruise vessels we use are not luxurious. The King Tut 1 and the El Fostate are particularly great boats. Having sailed last on the El Fostate I can vouch for how comfortable it is. Great food, great staff. You could’nt ask for more. But I think the Oberoi Zahra Nile Splendour cruise that includes stays in Cairo on the way out and back has really caught peoples imaginations and yesterday almost every other call was to find out more about that particular cruise. It’s not cheap. It starts at around £1500 and rises into the £2000+ mark in high season but its’ fabulous value. If you havent’ seen the itinerary yet please take a look. It sounds great.

The other surprising development yesterday was the number of enquiries we had for Kenya holidays. As you may know we have another specialist website, www.KenyaHolidays4u.co.uk that had been affected by the recent troubles in Kenya. But with the Foreign and Commonwealth Office’s announcement of a scale down in their recommendations it seems as though people are now keen to start booking again for Kenya. We received a whole bunch of great offers for Kenya beach holidays yesterday, which are now up on the site, and a lot of people rang to find out more.

If you’d like to stay abreast of developments and special offers for either Nile cruises or Kenya holidays you should sign up for our Newsletter service. That way you wont’ miss out on some of the great deals we get.

I know this is unusual, posting about another holiday destination on our Nile Cruises blog but we’ve had a lot of people calling to try and book a Nile cruise for mid-February and unfortunately most departures, (4th, 11th and 18th) are pretty well booked up.

So a number of people have been asking for an alternative that is warm, unspoilt and still has some half-term February space left.

So I’ve been recommending Cape Verde. We’ve just put up a whole bunch of half-term availability on our Cape Verde Holidays website. So if you cant’ manage to book a Nile cruise for this half term why not pop over to the Cape Verde website and take a look?

Kenya HolidaysWe’ve just launched the Kenya Holidays Podcast on our sister site, www.KenyaHolidays4u.co.uk. The new series of Podcasts will start just after Christmas and, just like our Nile Cruise Podcast will be aimed at giving potential Kenya Holidays and Safari travellers a taste of what they can expect.
